Six days before vote polls just 3% between the first 4 candidates.

Front two < 1%.As pollsters love to say “within the margin of error”.

    But 35% say "undecided".

At similar point in US Hillary had a 4% lead !!!    

 Those of you who do not follow these things in far off lands

might assume the two leading  candidates are the equivalent leaders
 of the Tory and Labour Parties; or a Democrat and a Republican.

Francois Fillon,63,is the Gauliste candidate for the Partie Republicaine on 19.3 %

 Fillon is

• A member of Opus Dei, 
• A very socially conservative Catholic(his description)
• Anti abortion
• Anti divorce
• Anti Muslim, 
• Anti immigration 
• Anti social permissiveness
• Anti anti

No sexual scandal or gossip;married to Penelope(une Anglaise)for nearly forty years.

But no sooner selected by his party than he became embroiled in a finance scandal accused of embessslement involving

•       Fake jobs 
•       Nepotism on the public payroll
•       Receiving gifts while in office  
•       No show jobs for wife and kids

                                He is a lawyer.

If not elected President he will likely be charged with fraud-French Presidents are immune from prosecution while in office.

By Trumpf standards he is a very petty criminal but alas,for him, he is an aloof (even by French standards) ponce with no  populist appeal even to racists.

              He is running in joint 3^rd/4^th place on 19% with

 Jean-Luc Melenchon  19.1 % Partie Unsubmissive France
            (at last a good Gallic double barreled first name).

Who on earth is the Melon Man?  The King does not know but he is apparently an ex member of the Parti Socialiste who left (geddit?)to form a more radical “Trotskyist” party

 Unlike Corbyn,the King is told that he does have charisma,  intelligence and a sense of humour.

He eschews the petit bourgeoise campaigning with partner or children and keeps his private life privee.

As to Policies?

• He is in favour of a looser/more generous immigration policy
•  Does not like Germans—at least not their politicians. 
• Supports the disbanding of NATO   
• Proposes a 100% income tax on income above $400k, 
• An increased wealth tax a
• Radical inheritance levies.

There is no communist candidate in the race;in a desperate attempt for relevance this once proud and influential party is backing Melenchon—no where else to go.

He did very well in the televised debates and has come up the rankings very fast. Naah he ain't gonna be the pres.

Marine Le Pen 48  22.3%

      She is a racist.We really do not need to know much more. 

• This kind of right wing nativism is part of a long,sad strain of French society.
• Even Napoleon could not face it down.

She is very vocal in her

•  Islamaphobia. 
• Opposition to homosexual marriage 
• African Bigotry  
•  Scape Goating
•  A dog whistler on the holocaust and 
• Apologist for  French collaboration. 

Her father does not bother with the dog whistles.Just a straight forward anti semite and holocaust denier.For electoral purposes they pretend to be estranged. 
                          

She is divorced with three children--so sorry ladies no decoulte pictures of her husband or partner.

    She is against pretty much anything internationally collaborative.

• She makes Trumpf look reasonable—just kidding.
•  She is much smarter and knowledgeable than Trumpf and 
• She is an anti EU MEP
• Anti immigrant
• Anti free movement of labour 
• A friend of britain's nigel farage and
• Vladamir Putin has helped fund her campaign

• She is much bigger threat to European stability and liberalism than Brexit 
• Would be a real menace if elected

Until recently and for some time she led in the polls.She is still effectively in a tie at 22+% and predicted to make the second round again.

The Pundocracy took comfort in the “wisdom” that she would lose badly in the second round to Fillon or other GaulistRepublicaine.
  

They are now far less sanguine and many sane Francaise are hoping (the sensible ones hope not pray,admirably anti clerical) she does not make the second round. Just in case.

The TV debates apparently took some air out of her balloon—but we thought that about Trumpf too.

Emmanuel Macron,39 23%

Currently in very narrow lead is Emmanuel Macron, Francois Hollande’s former economy minister.
He is the lad in the race at 39.The millenial generation.

Essentially level with Marine Le Pen the racist who led in all the polls until the televised debates. 

Macron is an investment banker. Like most of his ilk he is 

Charming 
Articulate
Intelligent
Biddable
Ingratiating
Flexible
A mile wide and an inch deep

He presents himself as a centrist,most things to most men/femmes--

"which policies would you like mes amis?" 

1. The opposite in depth to Melenchon, 
2. Much more user friendly than Fillon, 
3. Not a racist like Le Pen. 
4. He is probably sensibly liberal in social, economic and military terms.
5. He is Blair Lite--I know you thought it did not get any lighter! 

On the personal side he has attracted a great deal of controversy and “soft” prejudice.He has been “accused “ of  being

• A  homo sexual
• A swinger   
• A pawn of Jewish money
• If not actually a closet Jew. 
• He worked for Banques Rothschilde
• Closet Banquiere Juiffe  (Yid Banker to you Ken)

                The King has no idea how many closets he has. 

                             

There is much behind the hand chatter because he married his schoolteacher 24 years his senior.Now that may be taking a juvenile fantasy a little far but nobody would give a hoot if he was she and she a he.

Some in Cyclops court have said "wanting to bang your French teacher is a natural and worthy ambition for any juvenile--male or female-but marrying?"

Snarky as the King may sound,his majesty feels Macron  may be the least damaging and divisive of the candidates.

                                 

           If President he may struggle to find his anchors.

         

But compared to what—Le Pen ?

 If ,as still widely predicted,Le Pen wins in the first round then who will be runner up--not Fillon or Hamon the candidates of the two "mainstream" parties?

Macron-- maybe.

Given the events of the last year--Brexit, Trumpf, Turkish Coup and Rigged Referendum--do you want to bet against a run off between a racist Le Pen and Trotskyist Melenchon ?

If she wins + Brexit+ Trumpf+Erdogan+ Middle East Chaos+Putin –sell now! 

Will we really look to Germany and China as pillars of stability?

SEDER AT THE BEACH DAYANU !

The Court is Decamping for their  Seder to the King's Fishing Lodge on the Deleware Coast.

We can assure our British family,subjects and friends that this year we will be using the newly issued
                                                         LIVINGSTON HAGADAH
                         

     

Some among you will be familiar with the ancient celebratory song DAYENU which the Jews have  been chanting at the Seder table lo these 3,500 years since the Exodus.

[cut the b.s. Cyclops,you know it was written during the Babylonian exile. 2500 years tops]

DAYENU translates as:"it would have been enough for us", or "it would have been sufficient" It lauds god for all the wonderful blessings bestowed on  the Ancient Hebrews;especially taking them out of slavery,There is no mention of her allowing them to be enslaved in the first place.

Anyway there are fifteen laudatory verses after each of which the congregants yells DAYENU and a little wine is spilled from each cup.The theme being that if  God had only given one of the  gifts  --DAYENU - -it would have still been enough.                                                                                         

In the spirit of Dayenu the King instructed the Royal Lyricist to compose some extra verses for

•  Trump's campaign manager  Paul Manafort had received over $12 million of secret payments from President. Yanukovych  of the Ukraine.

On the day I posted that blog Manafort was fired as Head of Trumpf's campaign. 

This posting was over six months ago.The King has had cause to refer to Manafort,and his underling,Carter Page ,several times in this context noting that the federal investigations--and the journalists--were closing in.Even as the Sean Spicer and the Trumpf court desperately tried to distance themselves.

Most recently on March 27th ,HRH KC  predicted
  
" Paul Manafort will not be indicted for Treason but will have very serious Tax  and Money Laundering problems."
and    His sidekick Carter Page will be thrown to the wolves by Trumpf Whitehouse"

   I further mused that  " Manafort or Page  or both will seek exile in non extradition territory--Moscow?"

       

Failing that we can safely expect Carter Page  to plea bargain in return for the goods on Mannafort and a place in witness protection----from Putin.
