Cyclops believes Deripaska is a shareholder in Bank of Cyprus through an offshore holding company but I do not have access to information as to control of various shell company shareholdings listed.😎
It might be noted that the current Vice Chairman of Bank of Cyprus is Maksim Goldman.
He succeeded Wilbur Ross in this role having served on the board under Ackerman and Ross for two years from 2014 to November 2016.
Maksim spearheaded the creation and consolidation of Rusal for Deripaska for whom he has directly worked since 2005.Before that he worked for him through Chadbourne & Parke a New York law firm.
"He[Goldman] also draws an impressive salary at United Company RUSAL Plc, OAO Volga and FC Ural." op. cit."
All controlled by Deripaska
I guess his position at the Bank of Cyprus and long time connection to Deripaska is just a coincidence
p.s.As an aside, while at Deutche, Ackerman was on multiple prestigious boards;commercial, academic, governmental and charitable.
He had to relinquish these following his ouster in disgrace at Deutche and his only existing gigs seem to be the Bank of Cyprus and a sinecures at Rusal..Perhaps there are some private ones elsewhere.
MNUCHIN
"DEMOCRATS WANT TO KNOW WHAT RUSSIA HAS ON STEVE MNUCHIN"
A top lawmaker wants answers on a $25 million deal the Treasury secretary struck with an oligarch linked to Oleg Deripaska. Vanity Fair https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/01/democrats-want-to-know-what-russia-has-on-steve-mnuchin "Jackie Speier, member of the House Intelligence Committee, sent a letter to Steve Mnuchin last week seeking information about a deal he reportedly struck in 2017 with Ukrainian billionaire Leonid Blavatnik ....an associate of Deripaska’s. ...she has “serious concerns” about Mnuchin selling his shares in RatPac-Dune Entertainment to Blavatnik for roughly $25 million," in 2017.
Especially interesting given reports Deripaska got a sweetheart deal from the Treasury
Speier notes that Blavatnik and another sanctioned oligarch,Viktor Vekselberg own Sual which “is a major shareholder” of Rusal, Deripaska’s main company. Blavatnik formerly served on Rusal’s board and one of his companies donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. Oh yes same board on which Bank of Cyprus deputy chairman serves.😜
Following Mnuchin’s announcement of sanctions rollback, Senators Richard Burr[R] and Mark Warner [D] said this did “not change the fact that Mr. Deripaska, his employees, and his companies work at Vladimir Putin’s behest and operate as de facto...etc,etc
A bipartisan majority in both the D House AND the R Senate voted to reverse Mnuchin's decision. The only bi partisan Russki vote since Trumpfski was elected.
It fell short of the needed sixty votes in the Senate.
This story is not over!!😈
